Everything you need for an enjoyable day out of school

Before your visit, a teacher's pack of materials will be sent to you. The pack contains information sheets and children's work sheets which will help you prepare for the visit.

To make your visit even more enjoyable we offer cafeteria facilities at reasonable rates, of course, children can bring their own packed lunch.

Tea and coffee are available throughout the day for staff

A very reasonable cost, ?2.50 per child. This includes work sheets and all material required for the activities plus previsit/follow-up materials.
Bring your year 5 or year 6 classes to the Energy Learning Centre for a stimulating and educational school visit. During the day?s course the children will be engaged in practical science experiments and activity which will help you prepare them for National Curriculum SATs.  
The activities, models and displays are designed to promote investigative and problem-solving skills whilst increasing knowledge and awareness of energy and its environmental effects.
The Centre is housed in an architect designed suite that provides a secure and safe environment in which children can learn.

The science experiments and activities are a great preparation for National Curriculum SATs.

The structured activities will help you meet the National Curriculum programmes of study by involving children in measuring, recording, reading instruments, considering evidence, communicating and handling information, weather and environmental change, and computer measurement.

The interesting activities are based on:

Wind Power, Solar Power, Water power, Wave Power, Steam Power, Pollution, Conservation, Energy Costs, Stored Energy, Pedal Power, Weather, and Water Conservation.
